Which Products can I use with Frost?

Our computers are built to work with the majority of professional music equipment and soundcards on the market. We also feature warranty on it. You can leave your contact information in this form, we will contact you for advice if you have any questions. It is also important that your hardware & software have available drivers for the operating system we use, otherwise there could be problems. For example, Cubase 5 rolls very nice on our machines, but Cubase SX 3 does not. SX 3 was simply made before the technology we use today. So are you unsure if your existing, or future, equipment, work with your potential Frost - ask us!

We guarantee and do not provide support on products that are not intended to be used in a sound and music environment. If a Frost crashes

If a normal computer crashes you can possibly get it going again by using an installation CD you received with the purchase. It is true that you can not do this with a Frost Computer because it's special construction.

No, fortunately not true. Each Frost have their own hidden part on your hard drive where our installation is hidden. It takes up about 9GB space. We send the Frost out with an entire content of the original Windows disc. It is good to have this on hand if you want to do troubleshooting and it provides good diagnostic tools.

Should your computer crash, you can one-touch access it and do a factory reset.

You can also use Windows 7 to make your own backups, for example when you install your favorite applications, etc. and save them on external disk or DVD. Should your computer crash so you can access them also.

It is in most cases much easier to restore a frost than any other computer. It also takes only about 10 minutes to do it.

Windows Update

Can I run Windows Update on your computer?

We test our computers in the two environments, a factory environment, which is what computers are delivered in, and a "real world" environment, which always run windows update, virus scans, driver updates, etc.

We try to be compatible with both scenarios. So you can safely choose if you want to keep your computer "clean" or use it more online and run the updates, and more. We support both alternatives.

Using a Frost on the Internet

Can use my Frost safely on the Internet?

Yes you can do. We have installed adequate virus protection and firewall that takes up minimal resources. Your music will not be affected.

Factory restore

I would like to reset my Frost to the state it was when I got it, how do I do this?

First of all, NEVER reinstall your Frost with the enclosed Windows DVD, it does not contain the drivers and optimizations needed for audio purposes. Only use the DVD for recovery purposes when instructed to do so by us. Instead, use the built in factory restore software:

When the computer boots, press F4 repeatedly (if a menu appears with boot options, press the Esc key and then continute to tap F4

The recovery OS will now boot, follow the on screen instructions and choose "recover entire drive"

Alternate option:

Boot the computer into Windows

Go the all programs menu in the Windows start menu and locate the drive clone software

Choose "restore harddrive/active partition" and click "OK"

The computer will reboot into the recovery OS, follow onscreen instructions and choose "recover entire drive"

Checklist before contacting support

  • Restart you Computer (it actually helps more often than you might think!)
  • Uninstall and remove all devices inserted in the computer after you bought it.
  • Look for new updates for your hardware, run Windows Update from the Start menu. The drivers can be found under "Other updates".
  • Check out the FAQ on the left. Sometimes it is actually something useful.
  • If nothing helps above, please contact us. To speed up assistance, try as closely as possible to re-create and describe the fault, rather too much than too little.
