Snömachine has always been a little more special for computer concepts and the latest version is no exception. The computer is rackmounted and is beautiful to look at, but can also be used in harsh environments as for touring and on the road use. We use an aluminum chassis for light weight, not least the airport staff estimates. Aluminium is also superior when it comes to conduct heat and has features that allows it to be moulded into more beautiful shapes than normal steel casings.
When it comes to computers one musn't forget the performance of course, and with the Snömachine we for sure haven't.
A super-fast, low-power Quadcore processor is supported with the latest technology. Graphics components are extremely important in an audio computing environment, and therefore the Snömachine uses an Nvidia Quadro graphics card with industrial grade drivers that guarantee the most reliable usage possible. The one we use can handle two XHD displays (like the 30" cinema display) on maximum resolution at the same time without problems. These cards are used in medical appliances and other critical environments where stable performance is of utmost importance, just like in a music studio.
